Anisah and McKenna have a "Hakuna Matata" Day
Generous child McKenna, raised money for Pure Imagination Charity by selling homemade treats during the holidays. Because of her fundraising efforts, Pure Imagination Charity matched McKenna with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta patient, Anisah Their “Hakuna Matata” adventure began by being pampered with spa and salon treatments, followed by lunch at the The Sun Dial Restaurant, Bar & View. Then they were off to see the Disney's Broadway Hit The Lion King - Musical at the The Fox Theatre. Following the show they dipped into decadent chocolate fondue dessert at The Melting Pot - Atlanta Area with a horse-drawn carriage ride. What a roarrrring good time!
Piper and Natalie have a "fin-tastic" adventure.
Generous child Piper, raised money for Pure Imagination by being a "mother's helper". Because of her fundraising efforts, Pure Imagination Charity matched Piper with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta patient, Natalie. Their "fin-tastic" adventure began with an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour at the Georgia Aquarium. Later they were greeted at The Melting Pot - Atlanta Area by The Little Mermaid, Ariel for a special, private lunch. Then they were whisked away in a limousine to see the The Little Mermaid at The Fox Theatre. Following the show they had an exclusive meet-and-greet with the actors from the show.
Ty and Lathan hit a "Home Run"
Generous child Lathan, asked that instead of having a party for his 8th birthday, that the money be donated to Pure Imagination Charity. Pure Imagination Charity matched Lathan with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta patient, Ty. Their adventure began with an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour at Turner Field. Ty received a personalized Atlanta Braves jersey, welcome letter and unique Braves experience. Both boys attended the Brave baseball practice, were greeted by the mascot, Homer, and had an exclusive experience meeting the Braves players before enjoying a homerun game.
Honoring Julia at Serenbe
Julia is a beautiful, healthy, compassionate 12 year old. Her three brothers are patients at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and have all been diagnosed with Burkitts’ Lymphoma, a rare disorder caused by X-linked Lymphoproliferative Syndrome. The disorder is so uncommon that only about 100 families in the world struggle with it. To save her brothers lives, Julia underwent two bone marrow transplants. To thank Julia and to honor her for her contributions to her brothers and her entire family, Pure Imagination Charity planned an unforgettable and much needed mother-daughter getaway experience at Serenbe. Julia showed her appreciation by executing a bake sale to raise money for Pure Imagination the day after she return from Serenbe - and is now enrolled in the Pure Imagination program! She is looking forward to gifting a Pure Imagination experience to a patient at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Mary and Katelyn's High-Flying Mary Poppins Adventure
Generous child Mary, raised money for Pure Imagination by selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts and coffee during an Easter Egg hunt event at Lilburn park. Because of her fundraising efforts, Pure Imagination matched Mary with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta patient, Katelyn. Their “high-flying” adventure began with a sunrise hot air balloon ride. After being pampered with hair and make-up services at Bob Steele Salon they were greeted at The Melting Pot by Mary Poppins. Then they were whisked away in a horse-drawn carriage to see the Mary Poppins show at the Fox Theatre. Following the show they had an exclusive meet-and-greet with the actors from the show.
Robert Daniel & Hunter's Exclusive Gwinnett Gladiators Experience
Thirteen year old Robert Daniel, raised money for Pure Imagination and was matched with Hunter, a patient at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Robert Daniel and Hunter were both treated to a unique experience with the Gwinnett Gladiators. At the final game of the season they were afforded the opportunity to watch the players practice, meet the players and ice skate with them! They continued their fun-filled day with games at Dave and Buster's and dinner at the The Melting Pot - Atlanta Area. Finally the Gwinnett Gladiators hosted both the boys at the game - providing them bench seating and allowing them to kick-off the game by throwing the first puck! What an exciting day for Hunter and Robert Daniel - Go Gladiators!
Girl Scout Ana's Fondue it Forward Event
To help get her cookie badge, Pure Imagination Charity purchased 300 boxes of cookies from Ana, a seven-year-old Scout and patient at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta that was unable to sell cookies after suffering a stroke. Then we hosted an event at the The Melting Pot in Midtown on Sunday, March 3 in Ana’s honor. Guests enjoyed an afternoon of Girl Scout cookie-inspired fondue fun with a portion of the proceeds being donation to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
Kristen & Mia's Nutcracker Adventure
Generous child Mia, raised money for Pure Imagination by selling homemade holiday themed chocolate lollipops and Nutcracker ornaments during the holidays - and raised over $700! Because of her fundraising efforts, Pure Imagination matched Mia with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta patient, Kristen. Mia and Kristen, both enjoy and participate in ballet. Therefore, they were treated to an Atlanta Ballet experience to see The Nutcracker at The Fox Theatre. Their day started by being pampered with hair and make-up services at Bob Steele Salon. Then they were whisked away for a backstage tour at The Fox Theatre where they met the Atlanta ballet dancers and tried on costumes. Following The Nutcracker performance, they were greeted by Santa in a horse-drawn carriage to take them to The Melting Pot - Atlanta Area for a delicious fondue dinner.
Gabee & Karyn's "Superstar" Adventure
Karyn’s fundraising efforts through her school choir for Pure Imagination allowed her to take another teenager who loves to sing on a “Superstar” Pure Imagination adventure. Gabee, a Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta patient, and Karyn were treated to a recording studio experience where they created their own CD’s, were then met with "paparazzi" at The Melting Pot restaurant and attended the Train concert at Chastain Amphitheatre!
Serena & Abby's "Wicked" Adventure
McKenna hosted a “Paint for the Children” fundraiser for Pure Imagination. Because of her efforts, McKenna was surprised and able to treat two girls from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Abby & Serena, to a performance of "Wicked" at The Fox Theatre. The girls were greeted by Dorothy and the Good Witch, and they each received their own ruby slippers!
Brandon & Lathan's Grinchy Christmas Adventure
Lathan hosted a holiday themed fundraiser to raise money to take a Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta patient, Brandon, on a Pure Imagination adventure. Both boys were surprised at The Melting Pot restaurant by a visit from Cindy Lou and the Grinch. During this exclusive Pure Imagination event, Santa surprised them with gifts and a special ride in his sleigh. Lathan, Brandon and Santa enjoyed front row seats at the Fox Theatre to see “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”.
Ashton & Julia's Aquarium Adventure
Julia holds a fundraiser for Pure Imagination Charity to be able to take Ashton (a former patient at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta) on an exclusive adventure at the Georgia Aquarium to swim with the whale sharks!
